Melbourne's Vacumatic has added several exclusive agencies
to its own line-up of standard and custom-built vacuum packing
machinery over the past six months including Italy-based
Reepack, German-based Hilutec and Thailand's KM amongst others.
Known for its commercial
Cook and Chill food cooking system, as well as an established
line of vacuum packing machines, the agency agreements build
on Vacumatics' self-badged line to cover lidding/tray sealing,
thermoforming and retort package production.
Urs Stucki, director, Vacumatic, said
the strong addition is partly a reflection to customers demanding
a wider variety of choice in specialist food packing equipment.
"We regularly took enquiries from
people wanting to find out about getting larger-scale packaging
machinery and the agencies we've added are all specialists
in their respective fields," said Stucki.
"Since taking the agencies on board
about six months ago," continues Stucki, "the response
has been consistent across a range of food industries such
as meat, dairy and seafood and finished meat products."
Stucki attributes also attributes the
high level of customer interest to the reputation the agencies
have already established overseas.
"Hilutec and Reepack manufacturer to
extremely high standards that incorporate the latest in design
research and food technology," said Stucki. |
"They're
brands that have a great reputation preceding them in the
world market."
Stucki said Vacumatic will offer comprehensive
service in support of the new agencies, as well as providing
an in-house die (tool) manufacturing facility for the lidding
and thermoforming machines to create more efficiencies for
its customers.
Stucki also hinted at East Coast expansion
for Vacumatic sometime in the near future.
"We're planning to re-establish a
dedicated Sydney office to service New South Wales," said
Stucki. "While Melbourne is the food capital of Australia,
there's a lot of food industry activity along the entire
East Coast. I wouldn't rule out Brisbane as another location
for a Vacumatic office either."
